Reverse Applique is FUN!- Hand

Sweetheart Sorbet

Saturday, August 27, 9:00 am - 3:30 pm (CT)

Learn how fun and easy reverse needle-turn appliqué by hand can be while you create Sweetheart Sorbet, Medallion XII (26” x 26”) put out by Eye of the Beholder Quilt Designs, and see the beautiful drama that’s created with two contrasting fabrics.  Members of the Applique Society will learn our signature Trace, Baste, Snip & Stitch method that turns hand reverse appliqué into a labor of love.    The process Margaret uses gives you great control over your piece, allowing you to have sharp points, crisp corners and graceful circles. Students will love the results they get as they create their own beautiful hand-stitched medallion, and you don’t get hung up on the pins.   Margaret leads students step by step through the process, start to finish, empowering them to do reverse needle-turn appliqué by hand, do it like a pro and enjoy it! Layering and finishing will not be part of the scope of this class, but will be discussed.

Required for the class: Sweetheart Sorbet, Medallion XII pattern - $20.00 print/ $15.00 digital available at www.eobquiltdesign.com .Sweetheart Sorbet pattern by Eye of the Beholder makes a 26” x 26” medallion.  Pattern includes full-sized pattern piece and step by step directions. The remaining fabrics to finish the medallion are listed in the pattern.

Take note: The focus of this workshop is reverse appliqué. To that end we will be making the reverse appliqué (two-color/ two-fabric version) of Sweetheart Sorbet.  The pattern includes directions for a reverse appliqué with appliqué (multiple fabrics) version, even though that is not what we will be making together.
