Chantilly Lace, Table runner XIV
Modern French Elegance

reverse applique pattern - hand and machine directions
(20" x 60")
Bold and Elegant! Striking in fabrics by Banyan Batiks, re-released fall 2021 with updated directions that feature two variations. Perfect as a long table runner or a bed warmer!
The design is reminiscent of lace from Chantilly, France, created with a 10" reverse applique block, strategically placed in to form a center medallion and then corners to frame the table runner. The reverse applique can be done by hand or machine reverse applique, so you decide how you want to make it.
Choose variation one or variation two for your finished look. Easily make it longer or shorter depending upon the number of blocks you make, or by lengthening the setting rectangles between the reverse applique work.
Pattern has complete creation instructions using Eye of the Beholder’s Trace, Baste, Snip & Stitch technique, supported by Technique Tutorials and blogs on this website, and full-size, durable pattern pieces. There’s never a need to enlarge the pattern or re-position fabric.
Try it with the lovely fabrics we chose from Banyan Batiks, or create it in a palette that graces your home.
This pattern is available as a digital PDF download as well.
