We offer a variety of technique-based and project-based workshops. Margaret Willingham is an experienced teacher who specializes in teaching her signature, non-traditional method for hand and machine reverse applique that makes it easy and FUN! Eye of the Beholder’s method is called: Trace, Baste, Snip & Stitch.
Margaret Willingham’s 10 years of teaching quilting is anchored in 40 years of training dancers of all ages and skill levels. Margaret has taught her hand and machine reverse applique methods to quilters nationally at Road to CA, Vermont Quilt Festival, AQS shows, KCRQF, Applique Away on Galveston Bay, Academy of Applique and QuiltFest . Quilting is a journey and Margaret will inspire yours to be taken creatively and joyfully with grace.
She has patterns and articles published in Fons & Porters, 100 Quilt Blocks, American Quilter, On Point and co-authored Christmas RAPPing with Nan Baker. Her patterns have a distinctive style, and she designs patterns for Banyan Batiks, Island Batik, Batik Textiles, Turtle Hand Batik, Cherrywood Fabrics, RJR and Timeless Treasures.

Follow-up Coaching Session - We offer to host a 1 hour follow-up coaching session for all virtual classes to be scheduled one week later, giving students the opportunity to ask clarifying questions or to see any of the techniques again for a nominal fee

In all workshops every student: has a front row seat with our multiple camera set up; will gain proficiency and skill as you learn the needed techniques in an encouraging environment; will be given clear explanations combined with step-by-step demos, plenty of time to practice your stitching and time to ask questions; will learn our simple, non-traditional methods plus tips and tricks to help you stitch like a pro; receive advice on use of fabric and texture to give that ‘wow’ effect with your pieces. Discuss how to quilt your reverse applique piece, too.
Trunk Shows/ Lectures
We offer four Trunk Show/ lectures which are designed to renew you and spark your creative journey. Margaret shares her love affair with reverse applique and its history, the interplay of creativity and hope and the stories behind the quilts.
Quilting: A Creative Act of Hope - Quilters take the scraps of their lives and make something new out of them. They daily stir up hope within as they put together color, pattern and design (In-Person & Virtually)
Quilting: An Act of Co-Creation - As God creates, we are invited to create. Explore the interplay of creativity and spirituality. Share in Margaret’s quilting journey and be inspired to discover the role of spirituality and creativity in your own quilting. (In-Person only)

Prices are the same for virtual and in-person. If I need to engage a moderator, the cost
Workshop Fees: A workshop is defined by each class preparation:
half day = $440.00
full day = $660.00
2 day = $1188.00
3 day = $1782.00
1 hour follow-up Coaching session = $110.00
Lecture/ Trunk Show fees: Lectures are minimum of 1 hour with live demo and Q & A.
1 hour = $440.00
1 1/2 - 2 hrs = $550.00
Deposit: 50% non-refundable.
Workshops/ lectures are considered booked when there is a signed contract and the 50% non-refundable deposit has been received.
Balance of the fee for virtual events must be received 14 days prior to the event, and will be held in escrow, minus any fees, until after the event.
Balance of the fee for In-Person events may be paid at time services are rendered.
*Please note, I love working with small guilds and I am happy to talk to you and adjust my fees when that seems like something that will make us all happy.
