This is the 3rd and final design in our Victorian doorknob series, all based on a 16” block. Collect all three designs in the series. And with The Crowns you get two variations - the Crown and Tiara blocks, with directions for making pillow shams/ pillows.
The Crowns are rich and regal, and look elegant in fabrics from the Sea Glass collection by island Batik that they were designed in. Both Crown and Tiara blocks (16” x 16”) can be made by hand or machine reverse applique with applique, giving it added dimension. Pattern has step-by-step directions for all creation methods using Eye of the Beholder’s easier Trace, Baste, Snip & Stitch method for hand, or Trace, Snip, Iron & Stitch method for machine and full-size, durable pattern pieces. Add the borders and finish as a pillow sham/pillow for your couch or bedroom. Or get creative and make a whole quilt of crowns.

The Crowns - Crown /Tiara Blocks are the third and final designs in our Victorian doorknob series. We finished them as pillow shams, but you can finish these blocks as a small wall. Or get creative and use them separately or together with our other designs in this series, May Day and Honey Rose, to create a quilt of your own making.
Crown and Tiara were designed for Island Batik, using their Sea Glass collection, spring/ summer 2021. The pattern can be made by hand or machine reverse appliqué with appliqué.

1 1/8 yard Dark Purple (Marble-Blackberry, BE24-A2)
3/8 yard Medium Purple (Mini-Dot-Urchin, 112138435)
1/2 yard Orchid Purple (Swirls-Jelly, 112115460)
¾ yard muslin
Batting: 2 – 21” x 21” squares
For Machine only: Soft Fuse: 2 – 16” x 16” squares, 1 Tiara and 1 Crown Blocks; 1 – 16” x 24” for appliqué elements
