Reverse appliqué pattern – Hand & Machine directions, applique
(61" x 61")
Tulips & Lace is a pattern that combines reverse applique with applique and piecework to make this charming quilt to usher in spring bouquets of tulips wrapped in lace. The reverse applique work done by machine is beginning level, and by hand is for the experienced beginner - intermediate stitcher because of its smaller size and sharp points. A mingling of memories of homemade valentines, my Grandmother’s crocheted doilies and Tulips blooming in spring interplayed with Batik Textile’s Dragonfly Spell collection to bring this quilt design to life in Spring 2020. You can read the story behind the quilt by clicking here.
Pattern has complete creation instructions using Eye of the Beholder’s easier reverse applique methods, supported by Technique Tutorials and blogs on this website, and full-size, durable pattern pieces. There’s never a need to enlarge the pattern or re-position fabric. Read this blog for an in-depth tutorial about Making Half-square Triangles for the quilt.
This pattern is available as a digital PDF download as well.
