“Burst into Life” with the striking Midnight Explosion quilt now created by machine embroidery applique. We collaborated with Anna’s Awesome Applique to digitize our very popular design made in the same great black and bright batiks from Batik Textiles that are reminiscent of the Aurora Borealis in the nighttime sky. The block designs and the layout are the same, just on a smaller scale…61 1/2” x 61 1/2”.

Midnight Explosion comes alive with 17 unique appliqued and quilted blocks in-the-hoop. These blocks are also framed with 8 pieced and quilted blocks to complete the inner design. Borders are pieced and sandwiched then fully quilted in-the-hoop. The space between each applique space simulates the reverse applique appearance of the original design by Margaret Brewster Willingham, but now created as machine embroidery applique.
