Piecing the Background Fabric: Stripes

Though I usually work in batiks, I recently got inspired by a group of novelty prints to re-make my Sweetheart Sorbet pattern. I wanted to use a stripe as the background fabric, but I wanted it to peek out in a symmetrical compliment to the symmetrical design. So I pieced my background fabric.
