Margaret Willingham will be teaching Crowning Glory! The Pineapple for machine reverse applique at the second QuiltFest Virtual Schoolhouse hosted by Mancuso , ONLINE, May 11-14, 2022.
Mancuso Show Management is no stranger to online quilting and textile arts seminars. We've learned that many students enjoy learning new and exciting techniques from the comfort of their homes. Pineapple Block (12” x 12”) ready for machine reverse applique stitching.
In this class, Crowning Glory! The Pineapple, pineapples are a timeless symbol of hospitality and welcome. The Pineapple Block is a 12” x 12” multi-dimensional block that is excerpted from the Hospitality Quilt, which is now out in quilt competitions. In class you’ll learn how to easily create the multiple fabric dimensions by combining applique with reverse applique and under-coloring. You’ll learn our 4-step trace, snip, iron & stitch method for machine reverse applique and applique using fusible, and learn satin stitching techniques so you’ll get consistent results on corners, points and curves.
You’ll need 2 FQ, I for the top fabric and 1 for the background, and then 3 smaller pieces of fabric: an orange for applique of the pineapple pieces and 2 greens for the leaves. Or go wild and color your pineapple outside-of-the-box. The pdf pattern is included for the class. All these items, and others needed, are detailed on the supply list.
